Yi Pin 一品江湖: Authentic Sichuan Cuisine in Derwood, MD with Bold Flavors & Excellent Service

We went back there twice with friends. The food tastes good and the service is also good. The food came out quickly. The taste is different from szechuan as they did not use large peppercorn a lot. We will return again.

Hands down the best Sichuan food in Rockville. Yipin brings the real heat — not just spicy, but layers of flavor: numbing, smoky, fragrant, and bold. Every dish tastes fresh and thoughtfully made, with that perfect wok-char and authentic Sichuan punch. If you’re looking for watered-down takeout, look elsewhere. But if you want true Sichuan flavor that makes your mouth tingle and your heart happy — Yipin delivers. On top of the amazing food their server are so nice and attentive and their lunch looks delicious as well!

Great, authentic Chinese restaurant! Yes, it's a Asian fusion restaurant, but I'm mostly drawn to the Sichuan foods. We saw a lot of Sichuan traditional dishes on the menu and the ones we tried are all very good. The menu is full of photos to show the large selection which include both spicy and non-spicy options. Each dish is served with a large quantity, probably portioned for four adults, and on that account the average cost per person is really in the $20-30 range instead of $30-50. Our waiter was quite friendly and attentive to our needs. In addition, the dining area is well decorated in traditional Chinese style, and the bathroom is THE cleanest among all the Chinese restaurants I have visited.

We’ve been going to this restaurant for about a year, since they opened in 2024 or so. They serve authentic Chinese, non-Americanised food, freshly prepared for you. People are very friendly; wait time after the order is placed ~ 10 min, not more. They are also pretty high-tech: all waiters have wireless tablets and you pay right there, at the table. Unlike in most other places where you give them yr cc and wait for 20 min until they bring it back. Highly recommended!

This is by far my favorite Sichuan restaurant in the DMV area. Every dish we order is packed with flavor. From spice to umami to fragrance to wok-hei, Yi Pin does not miss and you can tell how skilled the chefs are here. Beyond that, they even have great portion size, value, and service. I don't understand what some of these 1 stars reviews are going on about at all, we make an ~1 hour trek out from DC every time and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend you try this place out for yourself and see what real Sichuan food is like.

Yipin is a great spot in Rockville! The portions are generous, and every dish we ordered was flavorful and satisfying. Service was impressively fast and attentive—our food came out quickly, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The flavors were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Sichuan food in the area.

One of the best places I’ve eaten in a while. Service was great. Decor is fancy. But the food, oh man, that was good! Fave was beef with tofu, hands down. But we only did spice level 1 because that only delivered a kick. String beans are always a hit for a kid, so thumbs up for that too.
